Upon Joel’s return to Ghana, he worked at the 37 Military Hospital in the Endoscopy Department. He eventually resigned to establish a firm that sets up endoscopes for major hospitals in the country.

“My seniors who are supposed to be comfortable are not. My children attended private schools in Ghana, but my salary was insufficient to cover the fees for even one child. I wanted the best for them. That is the mess that Ghana is in. So, I had to advise myself.

I decided to travel abroad to also better myself. I applied to jobs on LinkedIn and got an offer to be an Endoscopy lead in a private hospital here in the UK.”

Joel mentioned that the job came with perks such as free healthcare and other insurance policies that cover his family. Joel added that he has been able to do more in three years abroad than in his 20 years of work in Ghana.
