UAE-based Ghanaian Collins revealed that he became depressed due to unemployment in Dubai and often cried himself to sleep.
According to Collins, Africans in the UAE pay African Agents for jobs but they are often duped and in extreme cases, left stranded in the middle of nowhere. Speaking with DJ Nyaami on SVTV Africa, Collins indicated that many have contemplated money rituals and lost hope.
“I often cried in my bed but many people were not aware including my family in Ghana. At some point, my father told me to ask for forgiveness if I had wronged someone so that I would get a job.
I paid 500 Dirhams (GHS2000) to an agent for a job, meanwhile, there were no vacancies. Another agent also took monies from 200 people and put us into a truck to the supposed job but he left us in the middle of the desert and fled,” he said on Daily Hustle Worldwide.
Collins eventually found a job with the help of a Nigerian agent. He expressed the challenges of working in the UAE adding that he wishes to return to Ghana soon.
