UAE-based Ghanaian Evans has disclosed that he earns more than a teacher in Ghana as an unskilled worker and saves about GHS4500 monthly.
In an interview on Daily Hustle Worldwide, Evans mentioned that he earns almost GHS8000 monthly as a fuel attendant. Evans indicated that despite being unskilled, he makes more than a teacher in Ghana.
“I work with a government-owned company and the conditions are better. They provide accommodation and transport allowance but the water and electricity bills are deducted from our salary.
Per my level of education and being unskilled, it is far better than (in Ghana). I make more than teachers and nurses in Ghana. I don’t pay rent or bills from what I get except food. I can save about GHS4000 TO GHS4500 every month,” he said.
Speaking about skills, Evans mentioned that he regrets attending SHS and not learning a skill instead. He hopes to learn a skill whenever he visits Ghana. According to him, skilled workers earn a lot more in the UAE.
