France-based Ghanaian Vivian, AKA Ohemaa Mizvii, disclosed that her biggest mistake was offering a helping hand to a Ghanaian because she was left with a huge debt to pay off.
In a chat on SVTV AFRICA with DJ Nyaami, Vivian indicated that she hesitated because some friends advised her against it but pledged to sign for the Ghanaian man, so he is rendered homeless.
“That is one thing that hurt me the most in my life. I told myself that if I saw another homeless Ghanaian, I might pour water on them. My Ghanaian brother was homeless and came to me for help. I hesitated because people advised me against it, but I did.
I don’t know how long he stayed in the room, but he didn’t pay the rent. During my workday, I was visited by my creditors with a notification that I have a debt of €11,000 to pay off. The rent owed was about €6,000, and the rest was taxes,” she said.
Vivian mentioned that she confronted the Ghanaian man about it, but he initially denied it. She is expected to pay the €11,000 debt within seven years. According to her, the Ghanaian man eventually apologised and promised to pay back monthly whenever her salary was deducted.
“He started paying, but I haven’t heard from him in five months. Nothing has been as painful as this.”
