Christopher Antwi, a Ghanaian living in the US, disclosed that he had to move out of her mother’s house at 18 years old to avoid causing their divorce.

Speaking on SVTV AFRICA, Christopher indicated that he lost his biological father during childhood. He lived in Ghana with some family members while his mother worked in the US.

Chris joined his mother and stepfather in America at 17 years old. He said adjusting to his stepfather’s rules became tough since he never had a father figure while growing up.

“I remember my family members told me to be cautious not to destroy their marriage. So I had to be very careful, but I didn’t have a father in Ghana and lived by my instructions. It became tough to live with him because the rules were too many. So I had to move out to save their marriage.”

According to Chris, he got the independence he wanted, but he became homeless. He juggled two jobs and college but eventually found his feet.

“At some point, I slept in a car for a week or two. My mom could have helped, but I didn’t ask because I decided to survive on my own. The first few months were difficult, but my friend’s father took me in and gave me a place to stay,” he told DJ Nyaami.
