The burial service took place at Tema Full Gospel Church, Community 1 near Obonu FM and immediately followed by the interment at the Tema Community Nine (9) Cemetery.

It saw appearances from friends and colleagues like Eugene Nobel (Executive member GHALCA) Oloboi Commodore Chairman (Great Olympics) Hon. Robert Kempes Ofosuware, Bishop Samuel N. Mensah (President Full Gospel Church) Hamza (Assemblyman Padmore Electoral Area) and Prosper Harrison Addo (GFA General Secretary).

In a chat with an old-time friend and playmate Francis Bossman shared some memorable moments with Paa Joe Kumah.

“He was a very lively man. PK always he that he would bounce back because he had hope and I was happy for him. We spoke on Wednesday and planned to meet on Sunday. Early that morning, I heard that he had died,” he said.

Moreover, Great Olympics Oldies took it upon themselves to support the family with a casket to bury their brother and friend.

“As an association, we could not allow the family to bear the cost of a coffin. That’s why we decided to get a coffin for the family,” former Olympics player.
