Gyamfuah, a Ghanaian woman living in München Gladbach, Germany, shared her life journey in an interview on SVTV Africa’s Daily Hustle Worldwide Show with DJ Nyaami.

She grew up in Asafo, Kumasi, attended Ahamangyah High School, and later pursued French at Alias Francis after completing her SSCE. She worked at Woodin Fabrics before moving to Accra. Life became more difficult when her elder sister, who had been supporting the family financially, died suddenly after returning to Ghana to marry. The death, which was caused by hospital negligence, pushed Gyamfuah to take control of her own future.

She initially took on caregiver contracts in Accra, working with prominent families in West Legon, including children of ministers and wealthy households. Later, she moved briefly to Lekki Estate in Nigeria before meeting a German man in Ghana. Their relationship grew, and after marriage, she relocated to Germany, completing her A1 language course.

At first, her marriage seemed promising. Her husband lived a luxurious lifestyle and loved children whenever he visited Ghana. But after settling in Germany, she discovered he didn’t want children of his own. His constant travels and eventual admission that he was not interested in fatherhood brought tension. She later learned that he had been married before and divorced for the same reason. After about four years together, they divorced.

Despite this setback, Gyamfuah stayed in Germany, mastered the language, and rebuilt her life. She later remarried successfully and is now blessed with three children. She has since returned to Ghana twice with her family, and her children speak German fluently.

Reflecting on her journey, Gyamfuah encourages Ghanaians to lower their pride and take opportunities both at home and abroad. She believes that marriage comes with challenges but insists that perseverance and determination can lead to a fulfilling life.
