Bridgette Barimah, a Ghanaian based in the US disclosed that her ex-husband explicitly told her that he only married her to get to the US and not for love.
In a chat with DJ Nyaami on SVTV Africa, Bridgette mentioned that she is no longer interested in relationships or marriage based on her past experiences. She has been married twice, and according to her, both relationships ended poorly.
“I got married at 18 and divorced at 25. I gave my ex-husband ‘nkrataa’ but he was a drunkard and abusive. I found and married another Ghanaian from Italy and brought him to the US.
I paid rent for six months when he was jobless. After a few years, he told me he didn’t love me and only married him for the ‘nkrataa.’ So I secretly filed for divorce and left the house.”
Based on these experiences, Bridgette stated that she is no longer interested in dating and is focusing on working to support her children.
