South Korea-based Ghanaian Fiifi Dadzie revealed that he sits on a time bomb and can be arrested and deported anytime as he lacks the required permit to stay.

In an interview with SVTV AFRICA’s DJ Nyaami, Fiifi mentioned that he sought asylum in South Korea nine years ago, but the permit was cancelled after four years as is usually done. The South Korean immigration expected him to return to Ghana but he stayed as an illegal immigrant.

As a result, Fiifi has made plans to return to Ghana if he is arrested. It’s important to note that South Korea’s immigration policies do not take into account whether an immigrant pays taxes or not. Additionally, it is only possible to obtain a stay permit after a child reaches the age of 6.

“I am on a time bomb and there are many like me. It is not a surprise anymore. We get the news whenever they (immigration) plan to do a crackdown. I am prepared and ready to return to Ghana if I’m arrested today.

The only way to get a stay permit in Korea is to marry a citizen or have a child there but you will get the permit when the child turns 6 years,” he shared.

Fiifi added that he has a one-year-old with a citizen. Moreover, his wife lives in South Africa and hopes to reunite with her soon.
