“I make enough in South Korea. If I could get a stay permit, I would never leave for another country. With overtime, colleagues at my job make $4000 to $5000. I would never leave if I got a permit. We get lunch at work and accommodation is free.”

Fiifi mentioned that he sits on a time bomb and can be arrested and deported anytime as he lacks the required permit to stay. He said, “The only way to get documents is to marry a citizen or give birth here. I am prepared and ready to return to Ghana if I’m arrested today.”

Mr Dadzie lived in South Africa before migrating to South Korea. His wife and child still live in South Africa.
