UK-based Ghanaian Nana Adwoa Kwabi disclosed that her ex-boyfriend of 11 years broke up with her and called off their wedding two weeks prior.
In a chat with SVTV AFRICA’s DJ Nyaami, Nana Adwoa stated that the breakup was over a misunderstanding. Adwoa believed it was money related but later found out her ex had cold feet.
“I lived in the UK while he was in Ghana. We began preparations for marriage after 11 years, but he called it off two weeks before the wedding. I almost committed suicide.
People told him I wouldn’t respect him because I live abroad. Subconsciously, he had doubts. He used a minor incident as a reason to break up with me. I begged him, but he never gave in. So I returned to the UK,” she recounted.
Speaking on her suicide attempt, Nana Adwoa mentioned that she almost drowned herself in a bathtub. Her male friend rescued her in the nick of time.
Adwoa added that they met a year later at a wedding in Ghana and reconnected. They are currently married and live together in the UK.
