UK-based Ghanaian Gifty Obaapa has stated that she applies for a visa whenever she visits Ghana and will never apply to become a dual citizen because she is better off in the UK.
In an interview on Daily Hustle Worldwide, Gifty indicated that she does not want to be known as a Ghanaian despite being born in Ghana. Gifty added that she will never apply for the passport because Ghanaian leaders have made the country unattractive to her.
“When I got my British passport, they told me I could become a dual citizen, but I don’t want it. I’m sorry to say, but I won’t thank you even if you give Ghana to me for free. I apply for a visa every time I come to Ghana.
The country is falling to pieces, and the leaders are wicked. Some of the citizens are also wicked because Ghana can only develop based on the mindset,” she said.
According to Madam Gifty, she helped some Ghanaians travel to Dubai but fled with her money. She added that “98% of Ghanaians abroad are not good. I stopped helping people because of that.”
