Germany-based Ghanaian Afia Druwaa has revealed that many Ghanaians abroad do not bathe twice a day to save money and also earn extra from the government at the end of the year.

In an interview on Daily Hustle Worldwide, Afia indicated that she found it weird when her host instructed her to bathe once daily, but she got used to it later.

“I didn’t understand her until I got my place. It wasn’t easy because I was used to bathing twice in Ghana, and I was pregnant too. Whenever she left for work, I would bathe the second time, but she caught me each time. She would check the sponge for water,” she said.

Afia Druwaa explained that homeowners paid water bills based on the size of the house. If the occupants used less water than expected, the government would pay back the extra.

“If you use more than expected, you’ll be fined, and rent increased. So everybody wants to save up and make extra cash, but I don’t mind if you bathe twice. Most of us bathe once a day,” she added.

Speaking on life in Germany, Afia mentioned that it would be tough for lazy people. She added that jobs are available and also shared why she left Ghana.
