UK-based Ghanaian nurse Millicent Nyarko has disclosed that she made a bold decision to divorce her husband after continuous physical abuse and insecurity.
In a chat on SVTV AFRICA, Millicent mentioned that it began a little after her ex-husband lost his job, and the responsibility fell on her. He felt insecure and accused her of cheating with her co-workers.
“He had no point or reason to accuse me of cheating. Some elders even asked him, and he only said he had a feeling. He accused me of sleeping with my doctor friends. They noticed it and even noticed his behaviour and asked me.
He began asking our kids about the calls I made and often beat me up in front of the kids,” she told host DJ Nyaami.
According to Millicent, divorce was a tough decision because her father was a pastor, and she feared what people would say. However, she took the advice and took a bold step.
“It was too much, and my grandmother advised me to divorce him because it could end badly for me. So I visited his family and gave them their schnapps,” she added.
