Kwabena Obeng Darko is a Ghanaian entrepreneur, engineer, author, and public speaker known for his strong advocacy for financial literacy, entrepreneurship, personal development, and African dignity. Through his books, seminars, and digital platforms—especially his YouTube channel “OBENG DARKO”—he continues to inspire many young Africans to build wealth and develop the right mindset for success.
In a recent interview on SVTV Africa’s Business Link with DJ Nyaami, he shared deep insights about life, success, friendship, migration, and honesty. According to him, many people already have what they need to succeed but fail to appreciate it. He stressed that being alive alone is a blessing, yet people focus more on what they lack instead of valuing what they have.
He advised against envy, saying many people admire their bosses or successful individuals without understanding the struggles and sacrifices behind their achievements. He emphasized that he does not envy anyone and encouraged others to adopt the same mindset. Envy, he noted, only distracts people from focusing on their own progress.
Kwabena Obeng Darko also spoke about friendships, warning that not everyone who smiles with you truly supports your growth. He explained that if you share good news and someone becomes unhappy or distant, that person may not genuinely wish you well. He encouraged people to keep only a few loyal individuals who celebrate their success wholeheartedly.
On migration, he observed that many Africans travel abroad without a clear purpose. Some move simply to say they live overseas, without thinking about the long-term consequences. He stressed that traveling should be about building capital and gaining skills, not just relocation for status. According to him, there is significant money to be made in Ghana for those who are honest, strategic, and hardworking.
He further highlighted the importance of honesty in business and relationships. He criticized situations where people send money home for investments and are betrayed by trusted individuals. He believes integrity is key to sustainable success and that anyone who does honest business in Ghana can prosper.
Kwabena Obeng Darko also encouraged gratitude and loyalty, urging people to remember those who helped them in their early stages of life. He advised individuals to support and uplift those who once sacrificed for them.
As an author, he has written several books focused on wealth creation and mindset transformation. His latest widely recognized book, African Advantage: Becoming a Positive Productive African (2023), emphasizes the need for Africans to develop a productive mindset and take advantage of opportunities on the continent. The book is available on Amazon in both paperback and digital formats.
Through his teachings and public engagements, Kwabena Obeng Darko continues to encourage Africans to focus on discipline, honesty, networking, and strategic planning as the pathway to lasting success.
