Lawyer Juliana, a Ghanaian-based lawyer in Spain, has warned immigrants against relying on misleading information circulating on social media about obtaining residency papers in Spain. She shared this advice during an interview with DJ Nyaami on SVTV Africa’s Daily Hustle Worldwideshow.

According to her, although Spain once discussed new immigration reforms, the rules have since changed, and many of the claims being shared online are inaccurate. “When the government talks about possible reforms, it does not automatically mean they will happen,” she explained.

Lawyer Juliana cautioned that many undocumented migrants (nkrataa seekers) are rushing to Spain based on false promises. She stressed the need for proper research and warned people not to rely on bloggers or unofficial sources for immigration advice.

She clarified that claims suggesting anyone in Spain before December 31, 2025, would automatically receive residency did not materialize. According to her, Spain requires proof of continuous stay, employment contracts, family responsibilities, or exceptional circumstances, along with a clean criminal record and biometric data.

She also warned against scams involving fake contracts, contract marriages, and threats of reporting people to authorities, noting that only lawyers and the police are authorized to give accurate immigration guidance.

Lawyer Juliana urged immigrants to seek legal advice, especially in cases involving workplace injuries or exploitation, stressing that many suffer silently due to fear of deportation.

Her message was clear: “Don’t gamble your future based on social media noise. Know the law and speak to a qualified lawyer.”
