Popular Ghanaian comedian and musician David Oscar, who is now based in Germany, has shared his thoughts on life in Ghana, governance, and creative expression. David Oscar, a regular guest on WTV Africa’s Daily Hustle Worldwide Show hosted by DJ Nyaami, spoke candidly about his recent experiences during a visit to Ghana.

According to him, sanitation remains a serious challenge in his area. Despite reporting the issue several times, he said no meaningful action has been taken.

David Oscar also described Ghana as very expensive, especially for someone who lives abroad and visits occasionally. He noted that if he finds the cost of living difficult, then residents who live in Ghana full-time must be facing even greater hardship. He pointed out that hotel prices in Ghana are extremely high compared to places in Europe and Thailand. He revealed that he paid over €1,000 to rent a car for three weeks, a cost he said makes the country feel hard to live in.

Touching on fuel prices, he shared that buying fuel worth about GH¢400 filled his car’s tank, which initially made him happy. However, he quickly added that the government still has a lot of work to do, as the overall system remains difficult for ordinary citizens.

David Oscar also criticized Stan Dogbe, accusing him of pushing people aside in a video where the President was moving around. Reflecting on his three-week stay in Ghana, he said he was happy to be home, but the experience was also painful due to the challenges he observed.

On a positive note, David Oscar announced the release of his new creative project titled “Good Evening Koforidua.” He explained that the work captures the essence of the area where he grew up, celebrating Koforidua’s vibe in a comical and artistic way. The project highlights the beauty and peace of the town and marks a tribute to its heritage. Good Evening Koforidua is currently available on all streaming platforms.

He also touched on politics, stating that many people are suffering in Ghana, yet some political party supporters cannot openly criticize their party even when it performs poorly. He added that certain platforms only invite individuals who belong to specific political parties, sidelining others who are independent or neutral.

Despite these challenges, David Oscar emphasized the importance of honesty, creative freedom, and speaking truth to power.
