Jenniffer Obeng is an entrepreneur engaged in the production of natural blended spices, operating from East Legon. She officially started her business in 2022 after transitioning from her former role as a teacher at King David Private School.

In an interview with DJ Nyaami on SVTV Africa’s Daily Hustle Worldwide show, Jenniffer revealed that although many people sell spices, she wanted to create something different. Her passion for cooking and her desire for unique flavors led her to begin experimenting with spice blends for personal use. She shared samples with people around her, and their positive feedback encouraged her to turn the blends into a business.

The brand is popularly known as Jenny’s Spices, though the registered company name is Jenny’s Food Function. Jenniffer disclosed that she started the business with just GH¢300 and initially operated on a very small scale. Today, she invests between GH¢6,000 and GH¢7,000 per market cycle to purchase raw materials. While she also imports boxers for sale, spices remain her core business, with the other products serving as support income.

At the early stages, Jenniffer promoted her spices mainly through WhatsApp by sharing them with friends and contacts. Over time, customer satisfaction helped grow the business organically. Today, new customers reach out to her directly, and existing customers keep returning for repeat purchases. She describes the business as steadily growing and promising.

Jenniffer expressed her ambition to sell her spices across Ghana and beyond. Her products are all-purpose, natural spice blends, and she also offers private-label production, allowing customers to brand the spices with their own names. According to her, many people love the spices because of their authentic taste and versatility.

She believes there are many business opportunities in Ghana, but success depends on identifying real problems and offering solutions. While capital is important, Jenniffer emphasized that people should start with whatever resources they have. She explained that her spices are native, authentic blends that only require the addition of salt to achieve a rich and satisfying taste. Her range includes both all-purpose mixed spices and purely natural blends that enhance the flavor of meals.

Jenniffer promotes her products mainly through social media, especially WhatsApp, which she described as a trusted and secure community made up of customers who believe in the quality of her products.
