Prince, who is currently in Virginia, USA, shared his journey on SVTV Africa’s Daily Hustle Worldwide show with DJ Nyaami.
He explained that back in Ghana, he lived in Tema and worked as a clearing agent. Before that, he was in Koforidua, where he once had a dream that he would become a clearing agent. Even then, he already had a strong desire to travel abroad. Prince used to preach the gospel and often slept in the church. One night, he dreamt that he had travelled to South Africa—despite not knowing anyone there.
Later, his senior pastor traveled to South Africa and returned. Prince told him about his dream, and the church helped him secure an invitation to South Africa. Around that same period, he had become friends with a woman in the Netherlands who was older than him—he was 28 and she was 45, half Indonesian. She liked him and also offered to send him an invitation to the Netherlands. He was torn between the two options, but because the South Africa visa was expiring soon, he chose to go there.
A woman eventually broke up with him while he was in South Africa, and during that emotional period, he had another dream where he saw two eagles telling him that God was connecting him to a woman in America. Without legal documents in South Africa, life was tough. He had invested emotionally in the older woman from the Netherlands, but she ended up breaking his heart.
While struggling in South Africa, a lady he had messaged long ago finally replied to him. She told him she was 26, and they talked for a full year while he was still in South Africa. He later asked her to meet him in Ghana for closure, and she visited him twice.
Prince advised people not to introduce their partners to too many people. The lady eventually filed for him, and although he first attempted to get the visa in Ghana, it didn’t work. He later traveled to Abidjan, where he successfully secured the visa.
According to Prince, opportunities are abundant in America, and many Ghanaians are doing well there. He currently works in physical therapy and has also decided to move into the IT field, which he has already completed training in, alongside an internship.
Prince encouraged others to take advantage of the opportunities in the USA, saying that people can do two or three jobs and build a better life. He added that doing ministry abroad is very different and requires a lot of openness.
