Germany-based Ghanaian Samuel Owusu stated that he’d rather his wife cheated on him in Ghana than in Germany after he sponsors her trip.
Speaking on Daily Hustle Worldwide, Mr Owusu indicated that he made this decision after a bitter experience in Germany. According to Mr Owusu, he was in a relationship with a married woman for months without his knowledge. He only found out after his girlfriend’s husband confronted him.
Mr Owusu told SVTV AFRICA’s DJ Nyaami that infidelity has become a norm among Ghanaians in Germany. As a result, he’d never file for his wife to join him in Germany because she might cheat on him.
“I’ll visit her in Ghana now and then. She will be there. I’m scared she’ll divorce me for another man. If she sleeps with another man in Ghana, I won’t see that. That is better than cheating on me here in Germany. The percentage of couples who cheat is high,” he said.
Aside from infidelity, Mr Owusu mentioned some other factors that cause divorce among Ghanaians in Germany.
“Some men also refuse to give their wives money, and once she defends fully on government support, there will be no need for you. Give her money no matter her salary because the government will become her husband and not you anymore.”
