Prince Young, a Ghanaian based in Australia, has shared an inspiring message with Ghanaians both home and abroad, encouraging them to take personal responsibility for building better lives instead of depending on government support.

Speaking on SVTV Africa’s Daily Hustle Worldwide with DJ Nyaami, Prince said that he has lived in Australia for 11 years, working with non-governmental organizations and private institutions — not with government funds.

“You can create a better life for yourself. No government can dream a better life for you. I’ve lived in Australia for 11 years, and everything I achieved came through hard work and opportunities from individuals and private firms — not from government money,” he said

Prince explained that although many Ghanaians abroad appear successful on social media, many of them are unhappy and are considering relocating back home.

“Most diasporans want to return to Ghana because they are not happy. They want to come home, earn regular income, and live peacefully,” he added.

He shared that building a meaningful life abroad requires sacrifice, resilience, and discipline.

“In everything, you need to sacrifice. You must be resilient because your destiny helper is your own character,” Prince emphasized.

He also recounted stories of others who struggled abroad:

“One lady told me she was advised to travel abroad to give birth. I wouldn’t even wish my enemy to go through what she faced — she nearly committed suicide because of the challenges she met there,” he said.

Prince continued,

“Another man sponsored his wife to join him abroad, but when he finally got there himself, he said it wasn’t easy at all — and that we never told him how hard it really is.”

He concluded by advising the youth to focus on developing themselves wherever they are:

“Success doesn’t come from where you live — it comes from who you are. Be disciplined, build your character, and create your own opportunities.”
