Mercy’s Story: 3 Years Without Intimacy, Living Like Strangers With Her Husband
Mercy shared her emotional journey on SVTV Africa’s Daily Hustle Worldwide show With DJ Nyaami, revealing deep struggles in her marriage.
She moved to the United States in 2009 through the American lottery. Two years later, in 2011, she met her husband, Fredrick, a mechanic based in Virginia. Their families arranged for them to marry in Ghana, and soon after, they began life together as a couple in America.
Fredrick is the firstborn of four children, with his mother living in the UK and his father in Ghana. Mercy says she supported him in many ways, even helping him build a house. Together, they have three children and still live under the same roof.
But for the past three years, Mercy has refused her husband intimacy. “We live in the same house, but I haven’t slept with him in three years. I cursed him and denied him intimacy,” she revealed.
She explained that the distance in their marriage has left her feeling detached, and divorce constantly crosses her mind. Despite sharing a home, she describes their relationship as broken.
Mercy’s confession sheds light on the hidden struggles some couples face in marriage, where living together doesn’t always mean being united.
