UK-Based Ghanaian Cries Out: ‘My Ghana Girlfriend Took Over My House, Brought Men There, and Even Got My Sons Arrested’
Nana Sarfo, a Ghanaian living in the UK, shared his shocking experience in an interview on SVTV Africa’s Daily Hustle Worldwide with DJ Nyaami.
According to him, he had a project in Ghana, and during his visit, a friend introduced him to a woman. After chatting with her for a while, they started dating. Things seemed fine at first, but soon after he slept with her, she began demanding money, phones, and other items.
When he returned abroad, the woman insisted that he rent her an apartment. Instead, Nana allowed her to stay in one of the rooms in his boys’ quarters until he came back to Ghana. However, things quickly spiraled out of control.
Nana explained that the woman moved in and gradually took over his house. She occupied three apartments, insulted the caretaker, and introduced herself to people as his wife. Shockingly, she started bringing men into the house. Though Nana had installed cameras, she later disconnected the power supply to hide her activities.
“When my own children went to the house, she sacked them. I saw on my cameras that she was bringing different men there. At a point, I couldn’t sleep at night because I knew something was wrong,” Nana recounted.
When he tried to evict her, she reported him to DOVVSU (Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit), claiming that he had paid her dowry. Nana said prayers and spiritual support helped him through the ordeal until the police finally assisted in removing her.
Unfortunately, similar incidents have happened to his friends too. One nearly lost his life after a woman hired men to beat him. Nana said he was even suspended from his own home at a point, as the woman tried to take full control of his property.
The situation escalated further when his two sons confronted her. Instead of leaving, she got them arrested. “I took care of her. If she was a good woman, she could have been my wife. But she chose to destroy everything,” Nana lamented.
He added that he had dated women abroad before but faced similar issues, including one who changed towards him after she started receiving government support. According to Nana, many Ghanaian men abroad prefer women back home because relationships with white women or other nationals can also end in trouble—often with false accusations of harassment.
Reflecting on his ordeal, Nana said, “I thought getting a woman in Ghana would be better so that when I retire, I’ll have someone to live with. But it turned into a nightmare. Some of us abroad are forced into a promiscuous life because things don’t work out as planned.
