Popular TikToker Harry, known as Truthmarks, recently appeared as a guest on SVTV Africa’s Daily Hustle Worldwide show with DJ Nyaami. During the interview, he shared his candid views on relationships, marriage, and the realities of living abroad.

According to Harry, many men follow him for his insights, while the women who do are often deep thinkers. He believes that some women secretly wish for their husbands to die early so they can inherit their properties. Comparing the past to the present, he noted that in earlier times, young women were pure and youthful before marriage, whereas today, many women frequently bring up their exes in relationships.

Harry argues that marriage has become outdated, except in cases where the woman is a virgin. He believes that modern women have control over intimacy and often manipulate men. He warns that some men tolerate such manipulation only until they become financially stable, at which point they leave.

He advises men to take their time when getting to know a woman, suggesting a three-month period to assess her true nature before becoming emotionally attached. He warns against entering relationships that are purely transactional, where a woman expects financial support in exchange for intimacy. According to him, this dynamic often leads to issues when pregnancy occurs.

Additionally, Hary cautions against ignoring red flags in relationships, such as jealousy, excessive arguments, drug addiction, and alcoholism. He advises women not to marry men who are lazy, seek an easy life, or are womanizers. He also strongly discourages long-distance marriages, stating that they rarely work and often result in wasted time.

Hary believes that a man’s value lies in his ability to provide resources, while a woman’s value is in her youthfulness, respectfulness, and ability to be submissive. He advises men to be cautious when dating wealthy women, arguing that such women might exploit them financially. According to him, women will only submit to a man if he has something they can admire. He uses the example of a wealthy man who establishes his wife in business, only for her to later become independent and no longer submissive.

Hary emphasizes that both men and women need discipline and proper planning to succeed in life. He warns that those who fail to plan their lives will end up struggling in old age, becoming bitter and resentful. He also cautions against having many children without adequate financial planning, as it can lead to suffering.

He shares a personal experience where he met a young woman at a Fidelity Bank branch who had saved GHC 90,000. Her family advised her to use the money for marriage expenses, highlighting the influence of societal expectations on personal financial decisions.

Hary acknowledges that while traveling abroad can be beneficial, it is not always as glamorous as people think. He notes that some people work multiple jobs abroad but still regret leaving Ghana because of the struggles they face. He points out that some wealthy individuals in Ghana do not envy those living abroad, as they enjoy a better quality of life without the challenges of migration.

He also highlights cases where people move abroad and focus on bringing their entire extended family over, often at great personal sacrifice. While this can be a significant investment, he warns that it does not always pay off. He stresses that having legal residency (Nkrataa) is crucial; otherwise, life abroad can be extremely difficult.

Hary advises people to prioritize their families when they travel and to make well-informed decisions rather than being driven by emotions. He believes that financial stability is key to having a fulfilling life and warns that without money, even maintaining relationships can be challenging. Ultimately, he emphasizes the importance of planning, self-discipline, and making wise choices, whether in relationships or life abroad.
