Resilience Through Adversity: From Orphan to Entrepreneur and Global Citizen

Sammant, a guest on SVTV Africa’s Daily Hustle Worldwide with DJ Nyaami, shared his inspiring journey of resilience and determination.

Currently based in Mexico, Sammant recounted how he transitioned from Brazil to Mexico after his wife, a diplomat working at the American Embassy, received a renewed contract.

They now reside in Jalisco, the birthplace of tequila.

Sammant revealed that he left Ghana at 18 years old after losing both parents.

Determined to seek opportunities abroad, he traveled extensively, living in countries like South Africa, Mozambique, Swaziland, Côte d’Ivoire, Thailand, the Philippines, and Brazil.

Starting from humble beginnings in South Africa, where he worked as a barber, shoemaker, and street vendor, Nail Technician, Sammant’s journey reflects resilience and adaptability.

In South Africa, his versatility was noticed when a customer remarked on his ability to fix both shoes and nails.

Despite hardships, Sammant pushed forward, eventually teaching English in Thailand for three years.

After moving to Brazil, he overcame challenges like racism and job instability to establish himself as a teacher.

Over time, he founded an English school, which he now manages remotely while traveling.

Sammant advises Ghanaians to explore and appreciate opportunities in various countries rather than focusing solely on relocating to first-world nations.

Drawing from his travels to Europe and the U.S., he encourages others to tour and learn about countries before making decisions to settle.

Reflecting on his experiences, Sammant expressed concern for African immigrants he encountered in Rome, who, having spent their savings seeking greener pastures, now live on the streets, unable to return home.

Sammant now operates an online business and teaches English to corporations while residing between Mexico, Brazil, and the U.S.

His story serves as a testament to perseverance, self-improvement, and the importance of education.

For individuals interested in starting businesses in Ghana, Sammant also recommends conducting reliable background checks through his Ghana-based company.

From an orphan in Ghana to a school owner and global traveler, Sammant’s story is one of triumph over adversity, showing that with resilience, dreams can become reality.
