“I got a lot of money in the money lending business and was doing well in Ghana. A group of market women came and built trust with me and I gave them GHS100,000. They refused to pay and threatened me. So I had to pay off the customer’s interest with my savings and lost all my money.

My boyfriend also broke up with me, claiming that I couldn’t handle the money he invested in me. I knew that was not the reason but it broke me. I contemplated suicide. My mom helped me out of it,” Mavis narrated.

Speaking on her broken heart experience, Mavis revealed that she began sharing her money with friends and colleagues at her bank job. As a result, she decided to start a new life in a different country and began the process to Germany.
