US-based Ghanaian Vincent Lukeman disclosed that he makes about $1500 weekly as an employed mechanic in a company and advised the youths to learn a skill if they wish to work abroad.

Lukeman worked with his father for years in a similar field and gathered his experience there. He first travelled to the US in 2015 for a visit and finally settled in the US a few years later.

“The US seems fun on the outside but you can’t survive if you’re lazy. It helps a lot if you have a skill here. I’m still trying to get the certifications to get more pay but I work in that field.

I make $1500 weekly as an employed mechanic. Some companies don’t need certifications. Just show them what you can do and they will employ you. It is easy to get such jobs here and they pay very well,” he told host, DJ Nyaami.

Aside from his mechanic job, Lukeman works part-time as an event photographer. According to him, it is important to have multiple jobs in the US to supplement the cost of living.
