UK-based Ghanaian Yaa has stated that she has never been lucky in finding love because both of her ex-husbands married her for their benefit.

Speaking on SVTV Africa with DJ Nyaami, Yaa shared her experience from both marriages adding that the system in the UK may have contributed to divorce.

“I don’t believe there is love in the system anymore. It’s all about money now. In my case, it was for documents. I can say I’ve never been lucky with love. I’ve done it for two men. I believe it was not love.

For my first marriage, he cheated on me after getting his documents. I met the second one in Ghana and we stayed in Ghana for two years before relocating to the UK. I won’t do that again because I wouldn’t know if he’s coming for documents.”

According to Yaa, her second marriage lasted 18 years. She believed that it was real until misunderstandings set in. Yaa added that the UK system also causes divorce.

Having lived in Ghana for three years, Yaa said, “Our marriage in Ghana was nice. But everything started going downhill after we relocated to the UK.
