Maize and Rice farmer, Diamond Dangote stated that Ghanaians often complain about job opportunities in the country but foreigners especially, the Chinese are exploiting our lands for their benefit.
Speaking on SVTV Africa’s Daily Hustle Ghana, Diamond indicated that many youths often overlook how lucrative agribusiness is and its benefits. She added that foreigners instead benefit from Ghana’s fertile land.
“The leaders also do not help us. Some farmers do not have tractors for their lands. Many also need education because not all the farmers in our villages are enlightened. Finding a truck to transport your produce from the farm is a problem.
A white man is benefiting from renting machines to rice farmers. Meanwhile, the government could provide these machines to support the farmers,” she told DJ Nyaami.
Diamond grows corn and rice. She mentioned that it is “the perfect investment.” She earns GHS2400 after harvest and only invests GHS1000 into its production on an acre of land. She urged the youths to consider farming as a side hustle.
