Husband and wife, Anthony and Angelina Addae, along with their three kids and Angelina’s brother, have been on the road since November 21, 2023. They are currently in Mexico City, hoping to enter the US soon.

In an exclusive interview on SVTV Africa, Angelina revealed that she has been living in Brazil with her husband for six years, saving towards the deadly trip to America. She mentioned they left Brazil for better job opportunities and their kids (ages 21, 14, and 12) to have a better life.

“My husband brought this idea. He planned this when he first came to Brazil and waited for us to join the trip instead of going alone. It is just by God’s grace that we are here. My last born is 12 years old, so imagine having to make such a trip with a child. We slept in the forest for three days and five hours.

We took a flight to the Brazil border, and it’s been a car and boat journey since then. After Columbia, we walked through the Panama forest. We saw corpses, and a Haitian lost his child, and it scared us. We finished our food in three days. We starved for 8 hours, but we couldn’t go back,” she shared.

According to Angelina, she had watched several interviews on such journeys and prepped herself for it because “sometimes you have to risk your life to survive.”

They started their journey with $15,000 but were denied entry into Mexico multiple times. They are currently in Mexico City and are two days away from the US.
