Gifty Mateiko, a Ghanaian woman living in the UK, disclosed that she works three jobs to avoid taking benefits from the UK government and revealed why. 

In a chat on Daily Hustle Worldwide, Gifty indicated that she called for the service to be cancelled because the UK government ultimately takes it back.

“The only money I get from the government is child benefits. That is mandatory for all kids. I willingly called for it to be cancelled. What I don’t like is that they give you the money, but find a way to take it back later. They will claim you’ve received more than you deserve. 

The best is to work full time. I work three jobs. You can’t live here if you’re lazy. I work three jobs. This is my third job, and I have a permanent and a part-time, and I sell plastic barrels to Africans who ship things back home,” she said. 

Speaking about life in the UK, Gifty mentioned that most citizens live on credit and advised Ghanaians against feeling pressured to travel too. However, she added that working in the UK has been a great help to her and her family.
