Diana Donkor, a Germany-based Ghanaian, shared how her ex-fiance failed a test set up by her father.
In a chat on SVTV Africa with DJ Nyaami, Diana revealed that his ex suddenly proposed marriage when he heard she was preparing to travel abroad. However, his father was not convinced and decided to test him.
“I almost made a big mistake, but my father saved me from it. I didn’t understand why he did that, but I realized it later. My ex wanted to marry me two weeks before my departure date. It was too sudden, and my father did not accept it.
My father told me about his plans and gave his beloved car to my ex to sell for him. He was a car dealer. We hadn’t heard from him in a while, so I called him. He told me to leave him be and asked, ‘Who is your father?’”
According to Diana, she was in a rush to marry him because of peer influence. She expresses her gratitude for her father’s interference in her relationship. “Most of my friends were getting married at the time. I felt pressured,” she said.
Moreover, Diana advised young ladies to be wary of the kind of men they date or marry. Mrs Donkor is currently married with kids. She met her husband in Italy and has been married for about a decade.
