Lebanese born in Ghana, Akua Broni revealed that she established a football academy, but the Coach quit his job and took away the good players in the team.
In a chat on SVTV AFRICA with DJ Nyaami, Akua disclosed that she set up the academy to help orphaned boys who dream of playing football professionally. However, one of the team’s coaches ‘stole’ the good players and quit the job.
“I established the academy 11 years ago at Dzowulu. I wanted to move the kids from the streets, and I rented an apartment for those who wanted to play football. I also sponsored the education of others.
Eventually, we had other kids applying, and they paid monthly fees. During the pandemic, one of the coaches took the good ones for himself. I’ve been working with him for years. There was nothing I could do because these kids were orphans,” she noted.
Moreover, Akua Obroni spoke about the opportunities in Ghana and why many Ghanaian youths prefer to work abroad.
“Anyone who says there is no money or opportunities in Ghana is a liar. I’ve been to all 16 regions in Ghana, but Ghanaians don’t see the opportunities because they are often discouraged. Don’t take advice from even your close friends,” she added.
