Germany-based Ghanaian Lorena Boakyewaa has disclosed that she pulled a knife on her ex-husband and threatened to end their who had mistreated her and kept her locked up for months.

In a chat on Daily Hustle Worldwide with DJ Nyaami, Lorena revealed that her ex-husband was unhappy about her pregnancy and tried to terminate it. “I didn’t tell him I was pregnant. I wanted to surprise him, but he couldn’t even recognise me at the airport because I had changed physically. When we got home, he called his mom and complained about the pregnancy. He wanted me to work like a slave, but the pregnancy ruined that chance for him.

My ex-husband took my passport and wouldn’t let me out of the house or talk to anybody for four months. He gave me some pills to take, but I threw them away. Almost five months in, I woke up one night and pulled a knife on him. I told him to give me my passport, or I stab him and commit suicide,” she narrated.

Lorena added that her ex-husband hid her passport underground. In the morning, he took her to an asylum house and refused to file for her to get residency documents despite electing a baby with her.
