UK-based Ghanaian Irene Afia has stated that she would choose to work in Ghana because it is too stressful in the UK.

Speaking on Daily Hustle Worldwide on SVTV AFRICA, the midwife indicated that many Ghanaian nurses who travelled to the UK left because of poor salaries and working conditions.

According to her, the experience she had gained in the UK in the past year will make a huge difference if she returns to Ghana.

“I don’t know about other nurses, but I’ll choose to work in Ghana over the UK anyway. You get to wear and eat whatever you want in Ghana. I didn’t wake up to an alarm in Ghana, but here, I have to.

I’m trying to build on my experience, so I can make a major difference in Ghana. Some nurses at the big hospitals in Ghana may not think about travelling because they make about GHS6000 monthly,” Irene said.

Moreover, Irene shared more about working in the health sector in the UK. She mentioned some of the differences in the health sector in both countries and ways to improve Ghana’s ailing sector.
