Belgium-based Ghanaian Vida has stated that her government supports her with 2500 Euros (GHS32K) monthly for her eight children, but it is not enough.
In an interview on SVTV AFRICA with DJ Nyaami, the single mother indicated that she caters to the kids with no support from the father. Despite the child support system in Belgium, Vida says it is not enough to take care of eight kids.
“I get 2500 Euros monthly, but it is not enough. That is why I work so that they can get all they need. That’s what I get for eight kids,” she said.
Child support has come up on the Daily Hustle Worldwide show many times as the cause of divorce among Ghanaians abroad.
Speaking about her baby daddy, Vida said, “he doesn’t support her financially because I divorced him. You know how some Ghanaian men are. They deject the kids out of anger after the divorce. He comes for the younger kids every weekend. That’s the only support he gives.”
Miss Vida mentioned that she is not okay with being single. She is currently dating and does not mind giving birth again.
