British-Ghanaian, Phoebe Aidoo shared her drug addiction story revealing that she smoked weed seven times a day for six years.
In a chat on SVTV AFRICA, Phoebe disclosed that she started smoking weed as fun because her ex-boyfriend smoked but eventually became an addict. Phoebe mentioned that it was a waste of money and time.
According to Phoebe, she had a business with her ex-boyfriend and would often lie to her parents about travelling on business trips. However, she was in his house, smoking weed.
“He (ex-boyfriend) didn’t introduce me to weed because I had smoked some before, but I wasn’t addicted to it. For me, I was smoking it to get out of reality due to things I was going through in the relationship. In the beginning, it was a fun thing to do, but I became addicted to it.
When I became addicted, it was six to seven zoots every day for six years. I was at his house 98% of the time. To my mom, we were travelling abroad for business, but I was with him.” She told DJ Nyaami.
Born to Ghanaian parents, Phoebe could not speak to her parents about her addiction until she found Christ and eventually told her parents.
Phoebe added that she spent about sixty pounds a week on weed for six years and only got more depressed about her situation. She shared how she broke out of the addiction and her new life in Christ,
