Veteran Ghanaian musician Kojo Ashakan has stated that Christians should not wait upon a heavenly abode after death because they are living in it and must build it to their desire.

In an interview on SVTV AFRICA with DJ Nyaami, Kojo Ashakan indicated that Ghanaians have been blinded by Christianity and refuse to be enlightened. Ashakan mentioned that he believes in reincarnation, but he has no proof of it.

The musician revealed that he is not a follower of Christ. However, he believes in the concept of God. Having lived in Israel, Kojo Ashakan stated that he disagrees with how Ghanaian Christians practise Christianity.

“I can’t teach anyone how to serve God, but God lives in you. He is looking down on you from somewhere, and you don’t need a pastor to tell you what to do. There is no God or creator anywhere. There is a law of the universe that holds it. That is what we think is God. If someone created the earth, then who created Him?

How Africans understand God and Christianity is not right. Our Ancestors knew God but in a different way. We believe there is a heaven somewhere for those who do good. Whiles the whites are building their heaven on earth, Africans are building theirs somewhere else. We are already living in it, and we must build it,” the ‘Cedi na egye’ hitmaker noted.

Speaking about Ghanaian pastors, Kojo Ashakan noted that many secular musicians turn into men of God due to frustration in the country.

Ashakan is currently promoting his new single ‘Stealing In The Name Of The Lord.’
