Ghanaian based in South Africa, Adelaide Amoah, has revealed that some Ghanaian ladies based in South Africa avoid SA men mainly because they are not circumcised.
In an interview on Daily Hustle Worldwide, Miss Amoah disclosed that Ghanaians often tease ladies who date South African men. This is because Ghanaians circumcise boys in their infancy.
As a result, these ladies often find it unusual that South African men grow up uncircumcised. Adelaide mentioned that “you’d find a 40-year-old man who is uncircumcised. I think many of them are starting to get it done because things are changing now, but they do it at a later age.”
Speaking on her marriage, Miss Amoah revealed that she is married but not to a South African. Moreover, the Ghanaian community in Johannesburg tease ladies for dating them.
“The secret is that many Ghanaian ladies here don’t marry South African men. They often tease them for not being circumcised. So they will make fun of you. They‘ve accepted that now, but they usually do it for 12 years and above,” she stated.
Adelaide Amoah has been living in South Africa for 12 years. She studied to become a nurse there as well. After, she worked for a while but resigned to manage her salon.
According to Adelaide, Ghana’s current economic situation makes her more comfortable in South Africa. She indicated that food is much more expensive in Ghana compared to South Africa.
