Canada-based Ghanaian, Samuel Boateng has shared the investment loss and disappointment of having to start a business and create employment in Ghana.

Speaking on ‘Daily Hustle Worldwide,’ Samuel told the host, DJ Nyaami that he bought 300 acres of land in Anyinam in addition to 300 acres owned by a family.

According to Samuel, he met the chief before conducting the transaction. However, the chief sold the land to another party without consulting him or paying him.

“We decide to plant cocoa, plantain so that we can employ people to manage it. I bought 150,000 cocoa seedlings, but I lost all of that. When I came back to Canada, I heard that the chief sold the land to gold miners for ‘galamsey.’ Meanwhile, I have all the documents here with me,” he narrated.

Samuel indicated that he reported the case to the police, but the “CID asked for money before questioning the chief. I had to send them money for fuel before going to the chief’s house.”

He added that the chief gives him excuses whenever he requests his money.

Apart from this business failure, Samuel bought about four cars for a ride-hailing business, but the driver mismanaged it and threatened to curse him for firing him.

He concluded that he has no plans of setting up a business in Ghana anymore because some Ghanaians are not truthful business partners.
