Nhyiraba Kwasi, a Ghanaian national, has found himself stranded in Brazil after allegedly being abandoned by an agent who promised him employment abroad. He is now publicly calling out the agent for misleading him and leaving him in a foreign country while his wife and children remain in Ghana.

Speaking in an interview with DJ Nyaami on SVTV Africa’s Daily Hustle Worldwide Show, Nhyiraba revealed that he travelled from Ghana to Brazil about a week ago and is currently in São Paulo.

According to him, the agent assured him that a job was already secured in Brazil and also helped him obtain a visa. After the visa was issued, Nhyiraba said he sent the agent money for his flight ticket. The agent later purchased the ticket and asked him to fly within three days. He was also given the contact number of a man he was supposed to meet upon arrival and was instructed to print all his booking details.

However, upon arriving in Brazil, Nhyiraba’s expectations quickly collapsed. He said there was no hotel arranged, and the person he met took him to stay temporarily at a friend’s house. When he repeatedly asked about the promised job, he was told to be patient. Eventually, he was made to understand that there was no job waiting for him, and that the agent had misled him.

Overwhelmed and confused, Nhyiraba said he broke down in tears and prayed for help. His situation remained difficult until a friend based in Australia connected him to DJ Nyaami, giving him a platform to share his ordeal.

Nhyiraba explained that while in Ghana, he was working at an optical eye centre. His original plan was to travel to Canada, and he asked the agent to assist him with a Canadian visa. However, the agent convinced him to accept a Brazilian visa instead. Having already spent money and under pressure, he resigned from his job and proceeded with the trip.

Now stranded in Brazil, Nhyiraba says he has no stable job, no accommodation of his own, and limited support. He lamented the fact that he left behind his wife and children in Ghana, believing the move would improve their lives.

He is appealing to the public and relevant authorities for help, while also warning other Ghanaians to be cautious of agents who promise overseas jobs without proper documentation and guarantees.
