Francis Amo, a Ghanaian based in the USA, has recently relocated back to Ghana after years of traveling between the US and his home country. In an interview with DJ Nyaami on SVTV Africa’s Daily Hustle Worldwide, he shared his journey and vision.

Francis, who is also a pastor, explains that his ultimate purpose is to be in Ghana. Since returning, he has started a poultry farm and set up small-scale internet access services in his community. “As a pastor, helping my congregation gives me fulfillment, and poultry farming is a necessity in Ghana,” he says.

However, the journey hasn’t been easy. He lost 155 chickens due to electricity issues and an additional 256 chickens to feed, disease, and energy costs, resulting in significant financial loss. He began his farm with 1,150 birds and currently has 850, with plans to scale up by adding 1,500 more later this year. Broiler feed costs around 500 GHC per day, making the business challenging. Francis believes government subsidies on feed could greatly support poultry farmers.

Besides poultry, he is involved in internet provision and mobile money services. Looking ahead, Francis hopes to establish a Christian school where he can serve as proprietor. He plans to continue preaching abroad, including trips to Thailand, but always with the focus on his mission in Ghana.

Francis emphasizes that success doesn’t require leaving Ghana. “Many people think traveling abroad is the only way to prosper, but with consistency, you can succeed right here at home. My birds haven’t started laying eggs yet, but people are still willing to buy. If it’s God’s will, I will make it, and I don’t depend on anyone else.”
