Felix “Mr Linking” Speaks on Life Abroad, Cost of Living in Ghana, and His Plans to Relocate Home
Felix, popularly known as Mr Linking, is a Ghanaian based abroad who recently returned to Ghana from Denmark to spend the Christmas holidays. In an interview with DJ Nyaami on SVTV Africa’s SVTV Africa’s Daily Hustle Worldwide show with DJ Nyaami, he shared candid insights about life abroad, the rising cost of living in Ghana, and his plans to eventually relocate permanently.
According to Mr Linking, life abroad is far from easy. He explained that the system demands extreme hard work, often requiring him to wake up as early as 4:00 a.m. and return home late at night.
“If you don’t work hard abroad, you can’t build properties back home in Ghana,” he said. “But when I finally return, I won’t work tirelessly like this again.”
Mr Linking challenged the popular belief that life abroad is automatically better, describing it as a form of mental conditioning.
“When you come to Ghana, you eat well and look healthy. Abroad is not heaven; we have been brainwashed,” he stated.
Sharing his personal experience during his short stay, Felix revealed that in just one month in Ghana, he spent about 500 million cedis (old currency), highlighting the high cost of living in the country.
“Everything is expensive. Groceries alone can cost thousands. How are people surviving in Ghana?” he questioned.
Despite the high expenses, Felix acknowledged that making progress abroad is also difficult. He noted that after about two years of living in Spain, once one completes language classes, it becomes possible to acquire a car and stabilize life—but it is still a struggle.
Felix disclosed that he is seriously planning to relocate to Ghana, but is currently studying the system to understand the right business to invest in. He said he intends to visit Ghana every five to six months to observe the market, build capital, and identify sustainable opportunities before making a final move
Reflecting on his time in Europe, Felix recalled similar challenges in Denmark, where jobs were scarce and competition was high, contrary to the glamorous image often portrayed on social media.
“It’s not easy anywhere. That’s why I’m taking my time to plan properly before relocating,” he added.
Felix “Mr Linking” encouraged young people to look beyond social media narratives and understand that success—whether abroad or in Ghana—requires strategy, patience, and realistic planning.
