Linda Nimako, a Ghanaian woman who travelled to Germany in search of a better life, has shared her emotional story on SVTV Africa’s Daily Hustle Worldwide with DJ Nyaami. According to her, her journey abroad was filled with challenges, heartbreak, and betrayal, but she has finally found the courage to speak out.
Linda revealed that when she first arrived in Germany, life was extremely tough. She eventually ran away from her sister’s house due to difficulties she was facing. Around that same period, her former boyfriend, who had travelled to America, promised to help her move to the U.S., but the plans did not work out. Instead, she met a white German man who proposed to her, and they began a life together.
Linda lived with the man for 14 years, and they had three children. She explained that her husband openly told her he would womanize, and she was free to do the same with other men. Although this arrangement hurt her at times, she accepted it because she wanted peace in the relationship. Eventually, she decided she also deserved happiness, so she started dating a younger white man. Unfortunately, the young man informed her husband, who became furious. Their marriage ended in divorce in 2019.
During that period, both Linda’s mother and her husband’s mother passed away. She said her ex-husband’s father became hostile towards her after she reported that the children were being shouted at by their white grandmother. She later realised he was racist and used everything against her. After she cheated, it took her ex-husband four years to finalize the divorce because, according to her, he needed time to sort out the financial settlement since they had lived together for years.
After the divorce, Linda said she felt something was wrong with her health, so she underwent surgery and began exercising to lose weight. When her mother died, she returned to Ghana for the funeral, and her former German mother-in-law also attended. While in Ghana, her sister introduced her to a man, and her ex in America also introduced her to someone named Prince. During that time, she even ran into her ex-husband at a shoe shop.
Linda revealed that she married her ex-husband when she was 21 and he was 20. According to her, their relationship was unhealthy from the start—he encouraged her to bring him other girls, and both of them ended up cheating. She felt especially guilty because the young man she cheated with was the one who exposed her. She believes her ex-husband wants to punish her emotionally, even after their separation.
After the divorce, people in Germany started hating her for reasons she did not understand, so she decided to move back to Ghana. When she returned, she discovered that her ex-husband had allegedly teamed up with her sister to arrange men who would sleep with her in exchange for visas to Germany. Linda said the betrayal from her own family and the trauma from her past pushed her to the brink of suicide.
Her children are currently living with their father in Germany, and Linda says she does not want to communicate with him because of everything she has endured. She also revealed that she has refused to date again because she fears a man might record her and send it to her ex-husband to harm her reputation.
Although she does not work in Ghana, Linda says her ex-husband still pays her monthly. Despite everything she has been through, she is trying to rebuild her life and find peace after years of emotional and psychological struggle.
