Ohemaa Maddy Shares Her Painful Experience After Spending Over GH₵200,000 to Travel to Germany
Ohemaa Maddy has opened up about the difficult reality she is facing in Germany after spending more than GH₵100,000 on travel arrangements, with her total expenses exceeding GH₵200,000. According to her, the “connection men” who processed her travel assured her that she could recover all the money within six months of arriving in Germany. However, her experience has been the complete opposite.
She explained that even after working for 16 months, she has not been able to make back even half of the amount she invested. She currently earns 2,000 euros, yet she cannot even afford a ticket back to Ghana because she does not have enough savings or capital to return home comfortably.
Ohemaa described her situation as extremely frustrating, saying that life in Germany has become much harder for her than life in Ghana. She revealed that the most painful part of the entire process was that the connection agents gave her only a 12-day visitor’s visa, despite taking such a huge amount of money from her. This left her stranded and struggling to survive abroad.
She hopes her story will serve as a warning to others who are determined to travel at all costs, urging them to be cautious, avoid desperate decisions, and verify opportunities before spending large sums of money.
