Francisca Boateng, CEO of Slam Technology, recently celebrated 27 years of marriage with her husband. Sharing her reflections on Matter Dey with Dj Nyaami, she explained that a successful marriage depends on choosing someone willing to tolerate your flaws, your “nonsense,” and your moments of impatience—and you being willing to do the same for them.
According to her, love is powerful because when you truly love someone, you gladly do what makes them happy, even if it inconveniences you. But when you start noticing every flaw in your partner, it usually means the love is fading. Real love is finding someone who accepts you with all your imperfections. To her, love is sweeter than money. If two people have the mindset of “I know everything,” the marriage will not work.
Francisca shared an example of a friend who divorced after 31 years because her husband never forgave her and kept using past mistakes to judge her. Marriage, she said, requires forgiveness and mutual commitment—it cannot be one-sided.
She emphasized that it takes a lot of grace, forgiveness, and love to sustain a marriage. Many couples struggle because they hold on to past hurts, become arrogant, and refuse to let things go. On top of that, economic challenges such as layoffs have affected people’s businesses, finances, and even their enthusiasm for life.
Francisca encouraged everyone to keep learning because the world is constantly changing. She urged people not to be discouraged by age, adding that there are countless opportunities available for those who learn new skills. “I’m begging anyone—learn a new skill and add it to what you already have,” she said.
She also shared her passion for philanthropy, saying she hopes to live—and die—as a philanthropist because “you are only good when you give.”
Francisca announced that November will be a “November to Remember” at Slam Technology. The company is offering free classes in:
Data Analysis, Python, AI, Contract Management
