Kwame Boadie, a Ghanaian entrepreneur who returned from the United States, is making waves with his bold message about financial independence. Now running successful businesses in both Accra and Kumasi, Kwame believes that true progress comes from action—not just prayer.
In an interview on SVTV Africa’s Daily Hustle Worldwide Show with DJ Nyaami, he shared that “financial freedom is the best form of freedom.” According to him, many people rely too heavily on divine intervention instead of taking practical steps to change their circumstances.
“God has already planted greatness in you. He won’t come down to do it for you,” Kwame emphasized.
He criticized the common trend where people “tap into blessings” in comment sections without understanding the hard work and sacrifices behind others’ success stories. Kwame advised that to achieve financial stability, individuals must separate themselves from negative or unproductive circles—especially those who are content with poverty.
“When you don’t have money, you aren’t respected,” he said. “If a rich man commits adultery, people stay quiet. But if a poor man does, he’s condemned. Poverty is the real root of evil.”
Kwame described poverty as a choice, explaining that many people spend lavishly on expensive phones worth 1,500 to 2,000 Ghana cedis, even when they struggle financially. He recounted how a friend once approached him for help, and his advice was simple: “Be vigilant and smart about your money.”
He also cautioned Ghanaians against the mindset of sending large sums of money to foreigners or prioritizing migration over building local businesses.
“Most successful people aren’t 9-to-5 workers,” he noted. “They’re the ones who use their capital wisely. To gain financial freedom, you must always check your net worth.”
