Mohammed, a Ghanaian living in Switzerland, recently shared his experiences in an interview with DJ Nyaami on SVTV Africa’s Daily Hustle Worldwide Show.
This was not his first time appearing on the show. Mohammed revealed that he journeyed through the desert to Europe, originally motivated by his passion for football.
Speaking about life abroad, he explained that he doesn’t commit to supporting one football team or even one woman. “If the team fails, how can I eat? And if one woman breaks my heart, what will I do? I don’t put myself in such situations,” he said.
Mohammed described relationships with European women as complicated. At first, according to him, they appear supportive and do everything for you, but once you fall in love, they begin to control your life—even to the point of wanting to know your every move. “In Europe, many people lie. If you are truthful, you can’t survive here. Everything is 50/50. That’s how they live,” he added.
He also mentioned that he lives alone, cooks for himself, and has his own apartment. “If I break up with you and you come to my house causing trouble, I’ll call the police on you,” he stated boldly.
Mohammed further claimed that dating Swiss women is very difficult because of their lifestyle and gossip culture. He compared it to Ghanaians gossiping everywhere, even at workplaces. He recalled an incident where a pastor once tried to advise him to change his dressing, but he dismissed it. “Only Shatta Wale or DJ Nyaami can advise me. No one else can,” he said.
Currently, Mohammed works with the community on seasonal contracts, handling tasks like pavement work, snow clearing, tree cutting, stadium maintenance, and city lighting. Sometimes, he stays home for a whole month without work.
Although he has been in Switzerland for 8–9 years and hasn’t returned to Ghana, he expressed a desire to open a shoe shop in Kasoa, where he has family. He is based in Lausanne, on the bank side of Switzerland, a region where French, Italian, and Spanish are commonly spoken. He also shared that he hopes to travel to Morocco this December.
