Atta Maame’s Story – Tension With Her Father After Migrating Her Mother Instead

Atta Maame, popularly known as the Bronx Queen, recently returned to Ghana. In an interview with DJ Nyaami on SVTV Africa’s Daily Hustle Worldwide show, she opened up about the tension between her and her father.

According to her, she has not been on speaking terms with her father for some time. Growing up, she felt neglected as he never stayed with them, though she says she does not entirely blame him.

When she later moved to the USA, she decided to file for her mother first so that her mom could help take care of her children while she worked and studied. She explained, “I needed someone I could trust with my kids. Babysitting wasn’t an option for me, and my mother was the best person to help.”

Her father, however, became upset, believing she should have prioritized him instead of her mother. He also thought she sidelined him by migrating both her mother and mother-in-law, leaving him out.

Despite the misunderstanding, Attaa Maame says her intentions were never to hurt her father. “My motive was simply to secure my kids’ safety and give myself space to work and go to school,” she clarified.

Now back in Ghana, she hopes to spend two weeks with her father to reconnect and rebuild their bond.
