Kwaku UK Shares Painful Experience of Betrayal Abroad After Paying ₵170,000 for Visa
Kwaku, a Ghanaian now based in the UK, shared his heartbreaking migration story in an interview on SVTV Africa’s Daily Hustle Worldwide show with DJ Nyaami.
According to him, he paid a connection man a huge sum of ₵170,000 (₵1.7 billion old currency) to secure a visa. Unfortunately, the man added a woman as his dependant on the documents, and she later betrayed him.
“I sacrificed everything to travel. After spending another ₵150,000 to sponsor the woman abroad, she abandoned me just six months later,” Kwaku revealed.
He explained that while abroad, the woman pretended she couldn’t find a job, yet she secretly used his address and personal details for her own benefit. “I was left stranded and under pressure after all the sacrifices I made. The very person I helped turned against me,” he added with disappointment.
Kwaku’s story highlights the risks of relying on connection men and the painful reality of misplaced trust in relationships when abroad.
